Mission
Socially Green is an initiative of World Relief Australia Inc to encourage Australians to live sustainable, socially-just lifestyles.
We cannot continue to consume more than our world can produce.
As the world focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we should not forget the on-going poverty crisis that engulfs millions. Our efforts to reduce the greenhouse emissions produced by our unsustainable lifestyles must not have a negative impact on those who are poor.
The mission of the Socially Green initiative is to encourage Australians to:
- Estimate the negative impact that their lifestyle has on the environment and other people,
- Reduce this negative impact,
- Compensate for the negative impact in ways that help the poor to have sustainable lifestyles.
